Testimonies from our clients

We want to highlight a testimony from a 78-year-old dear friend and client of Renewal Center as well as a mother of three. Your testimony is your story, and your story is powerful in the process of growing and changing. We invite you to read these two that we have chosen to share, and let them increase your hope and faith in a better tomorrow.

First Testimony: My testimony is that God changed my life! I didn't. A counselor didn't. My husband didn't. God changed me from a very driven perfectionist to a patient, calm person. I am a CPA and I have my own practice; it's tax season and I am very calm. That is a miracle!! I had computers go down, technology issues that set me way back, but I know that from now on I am on God's calendar, not my tax calendar. Amazingly, everything gets done. The weight has been lifted. I am no longer in the driver's seat of my life and I am happier than I have ever been. How ironic. Praise the Lord.

Second Testimony: I had a very rough history! I came to Renewal as a referral from my medical doctor because I was suicidal and had lots of thoughts and plans about not wanting to live. I was just fed up with life and felt it would be easier to just go away for good and not have to face any of my thoughts and feelings. I did not follow through with these thoughts because of my belief that suicide would make God mad at me. As I attended my first session, I decided to trust and confide in my counselor, and we just clicked from the beginning. I started to share my past hurts and everything that was on my mind when I never would have thought I could have done it. You will never receive help unless you ask for it from people and from God, and I am thankful that I did ask. I found out I had a lot to share and that there was a lot of shame and guilt in me. I even found out that I really hated myself for some of my past. Now I can be more tolerant towards myself and others. I am relating more towards others too now that I do not have to criticize myself. I am building new relationships, and though I have rough days still, I have grown tremendously and am not the same today!

And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. ~I John 5:11
